Postnatal Checks

The doctor carries out a health and development check for baby as well as a postnatal check for mum at 6-8 weeks after delivery.

Cervical Smear Tests

These tests are carried out by the Practice Nurse. Please inform the receptionist when you are making the appointment that you will be having a smear teat. We follow the local policy which advises a smear every 3 or 5 years depending on age UNLESS the cytologist recommends repeating the smear more often.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

We aim to review all patients who fall into any of the above on an annual basis. You should receive a telephone call requesting you to make an appointment with the nurse.

We strongly advise you to attend for your regular reviews when requested.

NHS Health Checks

Between the ages of 40 to 75 you are entitled to a free NHS health check – the nurse will look at your lifestyle, blood pressure and blood results to help you reduce your risks of heart disease and other chronic illnesses.
